70,000 Harbor Breeze Santa Ana ceiling fans, sold exclusively at Lowe’s Home Improvement Store, have been recalled. According to the CPSA (Consumer Product Safety Commission), there have been 210 reports of blades breaking and/or ejecting from the fixture, ten of which have hit customers.
The model number for the 48- inch fan fixtures is LP8294LBN with the UPC code: 8405065991178, which can be found on the fan motor and on the inside of the battery compartment cover on the remote that is included with the kit. The two fan blades are dark walnut, the blade arm a brushed nickel color, and the fixture includes a frosted white glass globe with a light bulb.
The CPSA advises that all customers should immediately stop using these fans and contact Fanim Industries for a free set of replacement blade holders.
