According to the 2019 Economic Impact Report for the state of Tennessee, Coffee County ranked number 21 out of the 95 counties in the state, generating $104.46 million in direct expenditures. Tourism in Coffee County produced over 800 jobs, and over $20 million in payroll. Local tax revenue generated by travel in Coffee County was $2.71 million, while state tax revenue was $6.25 million.
According to the report, “If it were not for state and local taxes generated by tourism, each Coffee County household would pay $414.16 more in local and state taxes.”
