Etc.: MTSU will begin offering a new bachelor’s degree in Data Science as well as a graduate certificate geared toward working professions beginning this fall. The field of data science is exploding, with starting salaries for data scientists in the $70,000 to $85,000 and with demand predicted to soar nationwide by 28 percent this year even as thousands of data- and tech-related jobs are expected to come to or be created within the Mid-state economy.
