Browning Arms Company has recalled the Browning Leather Pistol Holsters, Multi-Angle Thumb Break. The holster is designed to carry Browning 1911-380 and 1911-22 pistols.

This recall is due to the fact that the design of the holster can alter the position of the safety switch on the firearm without the user knowing it. When this happens, if the trigger is accidentally pulled the firearm could fire unexpectedly, posing a serious threat to the user and bystanders.

The holsters are brown with yellow stitching, with the Browning buckmark logo branded on the front of the holster. The holsters can be identified by Item No. 12904011 and UPC Code 023614843702. These numbers are printed on the back of the product and packaging.

The CPSC and Browning advises customers to stop using the product, as one report states that the holster design changed the position of the safety switch on the firearm. Contact Browning Firearms for a free replacement holster. No injuries are reported at this time as a result of the defect.

Browning can be contacted via phone call at 1-801-876-2711.
