At approximately 4pm this afternoon, an accident occurred on Highway 55 near Bowling Alley Rd. between Manchester and Tullahoma involving a Nissan Maxima and a TDOT dump truck.
One person was taken to Unity Medical Center for treatment, and unfortunately the driver of the Nissan Maxima was pronounced dead on the scene.
Manchester Fire and Rescue, Manchester Police, Coffee County EMS, and TN Highway Patrol responded to the incident. Traffic was shut down on Highway 55 for several hours as crews responded to the situation.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation at this time. More information will be released as it is available.
