Manchester Fire & Rescue respond to structural fire; “The home is a total loss.”

Manchester fire crews responded to a structural fire at 808 Madison St today at noon. Crews arrived on scene to find a fully involved fire in a trailer at the residence.
Manchester Fire crew checked with bystanders during their survey of the home, and were advised that no one was inside the home, and were all accounted for. “Crews attacked and knocked down the fire quickly. Once the fire was reset, crews entered the home and attacked the fire in the kitchen are of the home and began putting out hot spots throughout the home,” according to Fire Chief George Chambers.
Crews were swapped out, as a second crew entered the home to continue put out “hot spots” within the home. Personnel on scene contacted the American Red Cross, as the home has been listed as a “total loss.” Two families have been displaced due to this incident, and will be working with the Red Cross to obtain proper lodging.
Chief Chambers states, “MPD did an excellent job blocking off streets for responding crews. Coffee County Communication Center did a great job in assisting crews and providing critical information during their response. Coffee County EMS was on scene and provided excellent help also.”
Duck River Electric was also called in to secure power at the home. There were no injuries to residents or firefighters during the incident. The fire is currently under investigation by Manchester Fire & Rescue.
