Mask Making
Our healthcare workers need personal protective equipment, and Tennessee 4-H is answering the call! Join us in the “Masks of Love” project by making cloth face masks for emergency and medical workers. Continue to practice social distancing. Don’t shop; use supplies you have on hand. Be sure to wash and dry your fabric on the hottest setting and wash your hands prior to sewing.
Get mask-sewing instructions here.
Note: Medical workers are preferring the fabric ties over elastic.
Take pictures as you are sewing and of your finished products, and email them to jmatthe1@utk.edu.
When you’re done, report your contribution here or email your name, number of masks made, number of people involved, and volunteer hours to jmatthe1@utk.edu.
Due to the governor’s Stay at Home order, volunteers should hold their masks until delivery instructions are released.
Disclaimer: Cloth masks are not sufficient to protect against coronavirus spread. Medical workers are using these masks as supplies run low.
