After storms and strong winds brought damage and left thousands without power yesterday evening, Coffee County could see yet another line of storms this evening.
The US National Weather Service reports that damaging winds and large hail could be the main threats. “Yes, there is a low chance of a tornado, but don’t get hung up on that. 70 mph wind is 70 mph wind whether blowing in a circle or a straight line,” the NWS posts on their Facebook. The potential for flash flooding lies closer to the Kentucky state line.
The main time frame for threat of storms in Coffee County appears to be between 7 and 10 p.m. tonight. Stay weather aware, and be sure to have several resources for receiving weather news.
