As stated in a previous post, Gov. Lee along with the Unified Command Group announced strategies to ensure face coverings for individuals across the state of Tennessee. While previously, clean protective equipment became a major concern for healthcare workers, the UCG wants to ensure Tennessee residents not working in health care are able to receive protective masks as the economy reopens.
With retail locations and manufacturing businesses reopening, there is still concern for transmission of the virus. Gov. Lee announced in a tweet that local county health departments will be offering free, washable face coverings to stem the spread of COVID-19 as Tennesseeans return to work.

Local health departments in Coffee County are located in Tullahoma and Manchester. Full information can be found in the graphic below. All 95 health departments across the state offer free COVID-19 testing, regardless of traditional symptoms.

“Each county in Tennessee has a county health department, with some larger counties having multiple facilities. A total of 89 primarily rural county health departments operate under the direct supervision of the Tennessee Department of Health, headquartered in Nashville, while the six larger, urban counties – Madison, Shelby, Knox, Davidson, Hamilton and Sullivan – have health departments that operate under local governance but work closely with the Tennessee Department of Health.”
