Base Commander, Colonel Jeff Geraghty, to Speak at Veterans Day Ceremony Veterans Memorial Walk Dedication

Mayor Lane Curlee and the Tullahoma Board of Aldermen are pleased to announce that US Air Force Colonel Jeff Geraghty, commander of the Arnold Engineering Development Complex (AEDC) at Arnold Air Force Base will be the featured speaker at the City of Tullahoma’s annual Veterans Day Ceremony. Veterans and the public are invited to attend the Veterans Day Ceremony to be held on Monday, November 11 at the South Jackson Civic Center at 404 South Jackson Street at 10:45 am. At this time, the City of Tullahoma will pause to honor America’s veterans and celebrate their contributions to our nation’s security.
Following the ceremony at 12:30 pm, there will be a dedication and ribbon cutting for the Veterans Memorial Walk at History Park in Downtown Tullahoma.
“When you honor those who have served in defense of this country, you honor the best of what men and women can be,” said Mayor Lane Curlee. “We are pleased to host this event for veterans and their families, and it is an honor to have our local military leaders participating in Tullahoma’s Veterans Day Ceremony.”
Colonel Jeff Geraghty is commander of AEDC, headquartered at Arnold Air Force Base, Tn. The Complex employs more than 3,000 people and comprises more than 68 aerospace test facilities across eight states. AEDC has facilities at Arnold Air Force Base in middle Tennessee, and operating locations at Ames Research Center, Mountain View and Edwards AFB, California; Peterson AFB, Colorado; Eglin AFB, Florida; the Federal Research Center at White Oak, Maryland; Holloman AFB, Kirtland AFB, and White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico; Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio, and Hill AFB, Utah. AEDC offers a suite of test capabilities to simulate speed, temperature, pressure and other parameters over a wide range to meet the needs of aerospace system developers. The test facilities simulate flight from subsonic to hypersonic speeds at altitudes from sea level to space.
Prior to this assignment Colonel Geraghty was commander of the 645th Aeronautical Systems Group (645 AESG). Colonel Geraghty served as an F-15E pilot in Operations Northern Watch, Enduring Freedom, and Iraqi Freedom, an F-15/F-16 test pilot, a staff officer in numerous agencies, and a program manager. He also served as a Secretary of Defense Corporate Fellow at Space Exploration Technologies (SpaceX) in Hawthorne, Calif. Colonel Geraghty graduated with a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), Strategy, Air University. In addition, he has earned a Master of Science in Genetics from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the United States Air Force Academy.Patriotic music will be provided by select members of the Tullahoma High School Brass Ensemble, THS Singers, Lloyd Smith will perform the Armed Services medley and Jon Gray will sing Faithful Soldier.
Others taking part in the ceremony include Mayor Lane Curlee, Colonel Beverly Lee, Reverend Marty Nutter, American Legion Post No. 43, Marine Corps League Detachment 1128, Boy Scout Troop 402, Daughters of the American Revolution and the GFWC Woman’s Club.
