AEDC Commander Jeff Geraghty announced another confirmed positive COVID-19 case this afternoon via Facebook.

“In my continued commitment to communicate transparently with everyone on Team AEDC, I want to share information about a confirmed positive case of COVID-19 that was brought to my attention last night – May 8.

A subcontractor employee who performed work in Bldg. 452, which is commonly referred to as the old Main Cafeteria, at Arnold AFB received results of an elective COVID-19 test on the afternoon of 8 May. He was present on the job site May 7-8. He is asymptomatic and is at home in self-isolation.

The employee’s movements on base were confined to Bldg. 452. The building along with the prime contractor’s construction trailer is being disinfected according to CDC cleaning protocols. Everyone who was working in these locations has been notified and will remain home until contact tracing can occur and a 14-day isolation period has completed for those who were in contact with the employee.

We continue to working closely with the Tennessee Department of Health and local health providers to coordinate prevention and response efforts in the local area.

I and my leadership team are committed to safeguarding the health of the workforce, preserving our ability to provide for national defense, and taking care of each other.”
