LYNCHBURG, TN (Mar. 18, 2020) – Motlow State, local government organizations, downtown groups, chambers, economic development agencies, and industrial boards who are dedicated to economic resiliency... Community Collaboration to Support Local Businesses.

LYNCHBURG, TN (Mar. 18, 2020) – Motlow State, local government organizations, downtown groups, chambers, economic development agencies, and industrial boards who are dedicated to economic resiliency throughout south central Tennessee have begun stepping up to help businesses looking for direction and assistance in the face of the COVID-19 threat. As the crisis unfolds, the coalition has been working diligently to create a database and survey system to promote local businesses throughout the area so that the community can continue to support local businesses while social-distancing or isolating. This collaborative effort involves sharing information from various resources, strategies, ideas, toolkits, and inspiration across organizations, local businesses, and within the community to send a clear message that we will get through this together.

This initiative is rapidly developing to help mitigate the economic effects of the crisis and provide support to local businesses as quickly as possible. At this time, the Tullahoma Area Chamber of Commerce is distributing a COVID-19 Local Business Survey Form to its members and the form is also available on the City of Tullahoma’s COVID-19 Resources webpage, as well as the Downtown Tullahoma website at downtowntullahoma.com.

An additional survey is being distributed to community organizations throughout the area requesting information about how they are responding to help local businesses during the crisis and to provide helpful resources to share with other community organizations throughout the greater area.

Community organizations that would like to participate as collaborators in the initiative should email Shelley Smith at ssmith@mscc.edu
