Kenneth J. Shelton Jr., of Tullahoma, passed this life on Saturday, January 25th, 2020 at Tennova Healthcare-Harton at the age of 65. Ken was born in Manchester to the late Kenneth J. Shelton Sr. and Marcia Howard Shelton. Ken was a graduate of MTSU where he was a member of the Kappa Alpha Order, and received his Juris Doctorate from Memphis State University. He served Coffee County as an Assistant District Attorney General for 36 years and felt privileged to be able to represent the State in the courtroom. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Tullahoma, as well as the Coffee County and Tennessee Bar Associations. Ken was also a former member of the Tullahoma Noon Rotary, and was a past president of both the Tullahoma Little League and the Tullahoma High School Quarterback Club. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Kenneth J. “Jay” Shelton III; grandparents, Jay Lusk Shelton and Clara Mabel Shelton, Ira Howard and Carrie Bunch Howard; uncles, James Linden Shelton and Bob Howard; and cousin, John Nichols “Nick” Shelton. Ken is survived by his wife, Vickie Shelton of Tullahoma; one daughter, Ann Elizabeth Shelton of Los Angeles, California; brother, David Howard Shelton (Sherry) of Jasper; aunts and uncles, Lynda Shelton, Alice Faye Hughes (Jerry), Allan Howard (Marilyn), and Don Howard; nephews, D.J. Shelton (Michelle) and Russell Shelton; great-nieces, Madison and Rebecca Shelton; and cousins, Marcy Shelton (Ed Schell), Dr. Suzy Murff (Harvey), Jay Shelton (Cathy), Lance Howard, and Robin Melton (Jeff). Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 28th, 2020 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Tullahoma from 11:00am-2:00pm with the funeral service to immediately follow at 2:00pm with Pastor Alex Hoffner officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens with Bill Rieder, Russell Shelton, Rick Moore, D.J. Shelton, Jay Shelton, and Lance Howard serving as pallbearers.
