Easter Sunday, April 12th, Lowe’s Home Improvement will be closing all U.S. stores and distribution centers to give employee’s who have “ramped up” working hours amid the COVID-19 pandemic a “day to relax”, according to company CEO Marvin Ellison.

Employees will not be scheduled for Sunday, April 12th and will not face reduced pay as a result of the store closure.

Lowe’s statement regarding the closure also mentioned additional operational changes, such as:

  • More third-party cleaning shifts
  • Enhanced curbside pick-up
  • Customized Plexiglass shields at all registers
  • In-store social distancing markers
  • Dedicated social distance ambassadors to monitor customer flow and adhere to guidelines
  • Regular overhead announcements and adjusted store layout
