This year Blakeley and Josh Drake, along with their daughter Delaney, will be offering to plant Easter eggs in the backyards of local communities such as Manchester, Tullahoma, Winchester, and Murfreesboro. The Drake family is hoping to raise funds for their second adoption, something that on average can cost $40,000-$50,000.

Ranging from $30-$70, your family can wake up to an egg-filled yard and a special note from the Easter bunny himself. The Drake family also states they can customize egg hunts to fit those with allergies as well. The deadline to sign up is April 5th, but those who sign up by March 14th will receive an ‘early bird’ special of 10 extra eggs added to your order. According to Blakeley “Bunnies will be hopping April 10th and 11th!” To purchase the egg experience or for more information about the event, contact the Drakes at joshandblakeley@gmail.com.

If anyone is not into Easter, tax deductible donations can be made through https://adopttogether.org/families/?fundraiser=drake-family-adoption-1. These donations are disbursed directly to the Drake’s adoption agency.

The Drakes’ Adoption Story

Josh and Blakeley Drake were married in 2011, and after suffering two devastating miscarriages, Blakeley was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome and MTHFR.

“Despite these disheartening diagnoses, we continued desperately praying and trying to conceive for several years. Discouraged after years of trying, we finally saved enough money to begin treatments with a fertility specialist. Multiple types of treatments and medications were all to no avail, leaving us with aching hearts and an empty bank account. We always had discussed adopting, but intended to do so later in life. Our reproductive endocrinologist suggested we take some time off from treatments and decide if we’d like to pursue IVF. For another three years, we waited and prayed and wished. Ultimately, we felt God’s plan for us was  adoption.”

The Drakes chose their consultants, who are now a fully operating agency, “because of their christian values and the way they love on their expectant mamas. Through their methods, we self-matched and were blessed with our daughter, Delaney, in February 2017. She is the light of our lives.”

In January of 2019, the Drakes decided to grow their family through adoption once again. They have signed on with their agency, and are waiting to be matched with an expectant mother. “We can’t wait to meet the little one that will complete our family, but we are also ready to start developing a relationship with his/her’s first family. We have no doubt that Delaney will be a wonderful big sister. When asked if she hopes for a baby brother or a baby sister, she will quickly answer, “baby seestuh AND baby bruddah!” Delaney often practices for her future role as “Big Sis” by fine tuning her diapering skills on her favorite friends, Buzz Lightyear and Sheriff Woody. It’s safe to say that we are all excited to complete our family with a new addition,” says Blakeley.
