SHELBYVILLE – A memorial service for Mrs. Mildred Bruner Williams, age 88, of Shelbyville, TN, will be conducted at 11:30AM on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at Tullahoma Funeral Home. Mrs. Williams passed from this life on Wednesday, February 26, 2020, at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born in Nashville, TN on March 2, 1931 to the late Joseph and Lettie Bruner.
Mildred was very active at church she was attending at the time. She coached church softball at Richland Baptist Church in Nashville. She also coached a cheerleading team at Worldwide Church of God in her last 40’s. Mildred taught herself how to paint with oils and was a seamstress all her life. During her life she made custom drapes, window valences, tablecloths and stage props for church plays. She also taught herself how to knit and quilt. Mildred was an influence on anyone that she crossed paths within life.
In addition to her parents, Mildred is also preceded in death by her husband, George Lealand Williams; one brother, Joseph L. Bruner; sister, Marjorie Bruner and son, Jeff Williams. She is survived by one son, Michael Williams, daughter, Jacque L. Dawson; one grandson, Terry Layne Dawson, II; three great-grandchildren, Sarah Copeland, Aidan Mullikan, and Deklan Dawson.
