Since the death of George Floyd, which sparked a movement across the country, protests and marches have been held in all 50 states. This week, different organizers throughout Coffee County have filed for permits to peacefully protest in both Tullahoma and Manchester.

Tullahoma

This Saturday, June 13th, members of the community have organized a march and rally, set to begin at 5:00 p.m. Protesters will gather at 4:00 p.m for the ‘We Will Breath’ march from C. D. Stamps on South Jackson Street to Tullahoma City Hall and then down to South Jackson Civic Center.

There will be speakers including Royce Massengill, of Royce’s Rant Podcast and Steve Berry. The event is set to be a host of conversations, speeches, and prayer.

C.D. Stamps is located at 810 S. Jackson Street in Tullahoma, and for those who wish to participate, it is stated that overflow parking will be at the South Jackson Civic Center. For more information about the event, follow this link to the Facebook event.

Manchester

Currently, there has been a permit filed for a march in Manchester on Friday, June 12th, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. The march will take place from the Coffee County Justice Center to the downtown square. The permit has reportedly been approved for the march. This is a developing story, and CCN will post more details as they become available.
