Coffee County schools are closed today after a night of brief but severe weather. City Schools remain open. Tullahoma saw the brunt of last night’s storm, experiencing down power lines and trees, damaged roofs, power outages, and even broken internet fibers.

Tullahoma residents experienced outages near Ovoca/Forrest drive, Ledford Mill, Carroll St, Sharondale, Lincoln, Grundy, Roosevelt, Warren, Stone Blvd, Deery, Fawn, and Fleming Areas. Several areas were even shut down due to down power lines in the area. Damron’s restaurant suffered major damage to their building, including their roof.

Parts of Damron’s roof now lies in their customer parking lot. (reader photo)

Tullahoma Utility Authority is currently working on repairing and cleaning up the damage from last night’s severe storm. As of 6:00 this morning, all known TUA outages have been repaired, and fiber splicers have been working overnight since 8:00 pm Wednesday evening. They are currently working in the First Baptist church alley to repair a 96-count fiber that was broken by a fallen tree. TUA warns customers that they may still experience outages in this area until it is repaired later today.
