Coffee County and Manchester City schools have released a plan of action for the “hybrid” school plan. If the COVID-19 active case rate exceeds .5%, both city and county schools will operate on a hybrid model, where students will be divided into two groups, Group A and Group B to decrease movement within school buildings in order to reduce the potential spread of COVID-19. Both school districts state that the schools will not be operating on the hybrid schedule to begin the school year.

The schools will also work to ensure vulnerable students and those with special needs will be eligible to attend more days. Further communication and instruction is said to be provided as the situation evolves. For now, schools will open for in-person learning, with some students having the option to do distance learning from home.
