Obituary: Nellie Bowen

Manchester, Tennessee – Mrs. Nellie Bowen, age 82, of Tullahoma, TN, passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2020, at her home in Tullahoma. Mrs. Bowen was born in Manchester, TN, to her late parents John Velasco Wiser and Minnie Leone Smith Wiser. She worked at Dairy Queen for 20 years before her retirement. Mrs. Bowen was also a member of Mount View Church of Christ. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Ted Carter; brothers, Bill Wiser, Stanley Wiser, Horace Wiser, and Ronnie Wiser. Mrs. Bowen is survived by her husband of 5 years, Horace Winfred Bowen; son, Terry (Kimberly) Carter; step children, Vivian, Cricket, Jeannie, and Wendell; brother, Eddie Wiser; sisters, Mary Reed and Kathy (John) Hayes; grandchildren, Adam, Ashlee, Lindsey, Whitney, Michaela, Elisha, Brandon, Steven, and Kevin; and several great grandchildren. Family will receive friends on Monday, September 28, 2020, from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at Central Funeral Home in Manchester, TN. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, September 29, 2020, at 11:00am with Billy Robison officiating. Burial will follow in Blanton Cemetery in Manchester.
